I want to update you on my effort to support our Southwest Washington police officers so they can address the rise in crime we've experienced in our communities.
This week, I introduced legislation that will inject more federal funds into local police departments to hire, train, and retain officers. It also ensures our men and women in blue – who lay their lives down on the line to protect our communities – are adequately compensated.
If we want well-trained police officers truly dedicated to protecting and serving all residents of our communities, it's time to re-invest in our law enforcement rather than chasing them away or cutting their funding.
As Southwest Washington's representative in Congress, I will continue to work closely with our local police officers. My job is to make sure they have the funding and training to protect and serve all citizens in our cities and neighborhoods.
It's an honor to serve you in Congress. If you have a comment, question, or idea for me, please send me a direct message here. If you'd like to be kept up-to-date on my work to improve life in our region, please click here. As always, please let me know how I can assist you.
