Protecting parents' ability to have final authority over their children's medical decisions
It's shocking that some states are considering laws to allow children as young as 12 to cut parents out of health care decisions (for example, this California bill). And while I believe the COVID vaccine is safe and effective for a vast majority of Americans, there's no reason to force parents to surrender their role in the health decisions of their families.
That's why I've introduced the Protecting Parental Rights Act in Congress to maintain parents' rights when it comes to medical decisions regarding their young children. Click here to read more about this legislation.
Working to reverse Washington's harmful police reform laws
Jaime signs her bill to incentivize Washington to reverse harmful police reform laws
ICYMI: Last month, I introduced legislation — the Refund the Police Act — that will provide federal law enforcement grants as an incentive for states like Washington to reverse their harmful "police reform" laws.
Law enforcement officials and countless police officers I've spoken with over the course of the last several months have pointed to Washington's so-called police reform bills as contributors to rising crime in our communities.
It's time for Washington to officially reverse course on failed police laws, which is why I've introduced this legislation to help encourage our state to pursue policies that support safer communities. Click here to read more.
