Herrera Beutler Effort to Expand Health Care Access for Battle Ground Residents Heads to President’s Desk to be Signed into Law

U.S. House and Senate approve FY22 Appropriations bill, includes over $300,000 to upgrade Battle Ground’s health care facility, expand health services

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler announced today she secured $320,000 to support renovations and upgrades to Battle Ground HealthCare which will expand critical health services to residents in the surrounding areas.

As a senior member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee, Herrera Beutler worked with the community on this funding request and helped secure the funds in the FY22 Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations bill, which was approved by the full U.S. House and Senate this week. The bill now heads to the president’s desk to be signed into law.

“Expanding access to affordable, quality health care is a must for residents across Southwest Washington, which is why I was proud to advocate for the Battle Ground community’s request to upgrade the Battle Ground HealthCare facility. As a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’m pleased to have successfully secured these much-needed funds to allow this clinic to expand its services, and in turn, allow more residents in the community to access critical care,” Herrera Beutler said.

“Battle Ground HealthCare is committed to meeting the critical health needs of the uninsured and underinsured in Southwest Washington, and the equipment provided with this funding will allow us to provide the complete health and wellness services that the residents we serve need to thrive,” Susan Neal, Executive Director of Battle Ground HealthCare, said.
