Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler today announced the winner of Southwest Washington’s Congressional App Challenge, voted on by a team of judges made up of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) educators and technology professionals from the region. The competition’s first prize winner is Joanne Lin of Vancouver’s Union High School, with her app entitled “Convenient Eats.” “Congratulations to Joanne Lin on her first-place finish in the Congressional App Challenge, and thank you to the students who submitted an original app design in this year’s contest. I’m consistently amazed by the talent of our Southwest Washington students and am so pleased to see the knowledge and ingenuity they’ve displayed in the world of STEM. My hope is this competition will inspire more students like Joanne to pursue this ever-growing and incredibly important field,” Jaime said. Click here for a preview of Joanne’s app. |
